One thing that I really try to drive home on this podcast is that as musicians we need to start thinking like business people.

We have to channel that creativity that we possess as musical beings and start getting creative about how to make money teaching music online.

We need to identify our ideal music student and then create great content for them on a regular basis to build our audience. But at the end of the day, we cannot build a business unless we have something to sell to our audience.

That’s why whether you are at the very beginning stages of becoming a passive income musician, or have already started your journey, you need to be thinking about what products you can offer your fans.

But the most important question to ask is: what products do my fans need and will ultimately buy?

You could spend months creating or marketing a product, but if it’s not the right product for your music audience, you may have wasted a ton of your time.

So how do you know which products your online music students will buy from you? That’s exactly what I will help you answer in this episode.

In this episode:

1. The two most important questions you need to ask first.

2. How to review your top performing content to help identify your product topic.

3. Identify re-occurring questions or comments you get from your audience.

4. Sending surveys to your mailing list to validate products or ideas.

5. How to know what kind of product delivery to choose from.

Validating your ideas and products is a crucial step in the product creating process. I never start building a product until I have used several of these methods to verify I have a winner.

This doesn’t mean everything will be perfect. For example, you might have the right product but failed to launch it properly. That’s all something we will be talking about in future episodes, so make sure you are subscribed!

But if you take action on some of these, I guarantee you will know your audience better, and what products they need.
