Musicians know that a common product that is sold in the music education space is music books. It’s unlikely that these kinds of products will die out any time soon, whether it be in physical or digital format.
eBooks are products that I like to have in my passive income revenue portfolio. However, around a year ago I was asking myself: am I leaving any money on the table?
One way that you can serve your music student audience better and make even more money at the same time is with product upsells.
Product upsells are simply higher value experiences that you add to one of your baseline products. In my case, I took an eBook I was selling and offered a higher tier Companion Course, to give my students a premium experience and help them get through the book.
The result? It roughly doubled my income just in the launch month.
So in today’s episode, I talk about product upsells and how they can be used to help your students more. At the same time, they can be a powerful way to take a great product offering and make more income simply by adding more value.

Don’t be fooled. This all sounds wonderful, right? Who wouldn’t want to help their music students more and make more money at the same time?
Like anything that produces great results, this requires a lot of work. Work to build an audience, and work to build the products themselves.
But the result is I continue to make money off of this eBook and companion course every single week. Sometimes every single day.
It’s not all about making more money, but about the freedom that passive income can grant you as a musician.
