When I first started my music education blog, I had absolutely no strategy.

I was making a bunch of content, but it had no end goal or purpose. I was making album reviews, music humor articles, and a ton of other stuff that my music audience really didn’t care much about.

What I teach on Passive Income Musician is building an audience of your ideal music students, by creating great free content.

This way they can get to know you, trust you, and eventually be willing to buy one of your products or services.

Just put yourself in their shoes. You’re so much more likely to buy something at the suggestion of someone you trust than a stranger, right?

But simply creating content is not enough.

Your content needs to be relevant to the musicians in your audience, and it needs to serve a purpose.

Ultimately, each piece of content you create (be it a blog post, video, or podcast episode) should be sending your audience on a journey that leads them to eventually buy something from you.

You need a content marketing strategy.

That’s exactly what I talk about in today’s episode. Having a solid content strategy can make all the difference in whether you will make it as a passive income musician.

This is my “Passive Income Musician Content Checklist.” It’s a pdf you can print out whenever you are planning a new piece of content for your audience.

In this episode:

1. The two main ways to get eyeballs in front of your music products and services.

2. What is a content marketing strategy?

3. An example of how I implement my content strategy.

4. Creating a content checklist for creating great strategic content.

Whether you are just starting out or have already established your online music education business, you need to be thinking about a content marketing strategy.

It’s never too early or too late to get started or correct your course. I’m a perfect example of that!
