It’s important for every music entrepreneur to reflect on their business and see how they can improve it. It’s the end of the year, and so this is the time I generally like to do that.

In this episode, I take a deep dive into my jazz education business Learn Jazz Standards and give you a look under the hood of how it operates.

This was a year of what I would consider significant growth. I grew my audience, built up a stronger community, and increased my revenue significantly.

All of this is the result of years of hard work, but not just that, applying the right strategies to produce real results.

I added to my revenue streams. I created more video content and involved my community in my podcast more.

I created a new product that completely resonated with my audience. I re-launched an old product and the results took me by surprise.

In general, it was a very successful year in my music education business, and a lot of it came with trial and error. I’m excited to share all of the details with you, so you can see how some of this could apply to your business!

In this episode:

1. The results of starting to produce weekly music lessons on my YouTube channel.

2. Starting a Facebook group for my community and what happened.

3. Selling a piece of software as a dealer and how that significantly boosted my income.

4. Launching a new eBook and how the to upsell companion course blew it over the top.

5. Re-launching an old course and how it broke records (to my surprise).

6. My Black Friday Sale (which broke my record again).

Despite the great results this year, there were some challenges. Some things I tried have yet to prove their results. A few ideas I had turned out to be wastes of energy.

That’s okay. That’s what being a music entrepreneur is all about!
